Profile
For those who don’t know me, I am very passionate about what I do. I am honest, dedicated and dependable. I consistently meet deadlines, working long hours as necessary. I recently founded Dogwood Accounting, LLC in order to be able to work from home in a profession I love. In 1993, I went back to college to finish my formal education and obtained an A.A.S—Accounting degree. I graduated Cum Laude, in 1995 from Southwest Virginia Community College. In 1997, I begin working in a local accounting office. The owner wanted to play more golf, so he began developing my interest in Corporate Accounting and Income Tax. The next step in my career was a Chevrolet dealership. GM accounting was a new challenge for me, and I do love a challenge. While there, I became a Certified GM Business Accounting Manager, and wore many hats, including IT support. I spent a total of 7 years in two dealerships. My next endeavor was for a corporation that sold racing merchandise on the NASCAR racing circuit. The organization was a multi-entity of 5 businesses—there were 2 Sales, a Campground Rental, a Real Estate and a Motorsports. The challenges of dealership work prepared me for my career at a large pipeline construction company. It is, by far, the most stressful job I have ever worked; however, I don’t regret a minute of it. It has allowed me to grow my accounting skills in ways I never imagined. That makes me the perfect candidate to establish a business working from home. |
